Exploring the intersection of queer rights and women’s rights in the mid-1970s.
What starts as an ordinary afternoon quickly gets out of hand when two longtime friends and neighbors revisit the past. Old stories, buried feelings, and a once-unspoken intimacy come rushing to the surface. FUNNY, FIERCE, FULL OF JOY, and RECKONING. This beautiful story invites us to look at these ordinary afternoons that shape our lives.

Carla Briscoe* (Joan) has performed in readings, workshops and productions with Ars Nova, The Barrow Group, Cherry Lane Theatre, HB Playwrights, the HBO Women in Comedy Festival, IRT, the Kennedy Center, LAByrinth Theater Company, New Ambassadors, New Dramatists, New Georges, the NY International Fringe Festival, The Sundance Institute, and others. A regular performer with NYC's Upstart Creatures (co-Artistic Directors Michael Barakiva & Suzie Agins) from 2015-2021, she is an original and still recurring cast member in one of the Upright Citizens' Brigades longest running shows, Gravid Water (created & directed by Stephen Ruddy). Holly Cinnamon* (Elizabeth) is an actor, singer-songwriter and independent queer music producer based in NYC. Film and TV credits include Julie Barnes in Marvel's Daredevil, Kathryn Bigelow's latest feature film A House of DynamiteHocus Pocus 2, Succession and Alert: Missing Person’s Unit. Holly made her off-Broadway debut in Dear Jane and has performed in regional theatres in Boston and across Canada. She produces original queer dance pop music and can be regularly seen performing live at the historic Stonewall Inn. Holly trained at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee School of Music and the National Theatre School of Canada, and is thrilled to play a queer woman living in a different time in this lovely play by an iconic Canadian playwright. CREATIVE


Daniel MacIvor (Playwright) is a Toronto-based playwright, performer, filmmaker and producer.  He has been the recipient of Canada's Governor General’s Literary Award, the Siminovitch Prize for Theatre, a New York Obie Award and a GLAAD Award.  His plays include NEVER SWIM ALONE, IN ON IT, HIS GREATNESS, and A BEAUTIFUL VIEW have been translated into French, German, Czech, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese.  He has worked on commissions for the Wexner Centre, The Banff Centre, the National Theatre School of Canada, the Stratford Festival and the Canadian Opera Company where he wrote the libretto for Rufus Wainwright’s Hadrian. As a screenwriter he has written the films Marion Bridge, Wilby Wonderful, Trigger, and Weirdos for which he won a Canadian Screen Award for best original screenplay. From 2021-2026 he was the creative consultant for venerable queer media company Pink Triangle Press creating new media that encourages allyship and advocacy.  Currently Daniel runs reWork Productions developing new theatre and media.  

Judson Jones (Director) is an award-winning producer and director who has had the privilege of collaborating on the premieres of Tim Blake Nelson’s EYE OF GOD, Christopher Durang’s THE VIETNAMIZATON OF NEW JERSEY (NY Times Critic Pick), David Crawford’s HARVEST (Smith & Kraus Best New Plays of 2008; Back Stage Critic’s Pick), Bennett Windheim’s NORMALCY, Megan O’Brien’s THE JUNGLE BOOK, Daniel MacIvor’s THE SOLDIER DREAMS, and DEVIL AND THE DEEP with Air Supply‘s Graham Russell. Regional producing credits include: THE JINN (The American Theatre Critics Award) HEDDA, BASH, and DESIRE. His directing credits include: HOLY GHOSTS, NAME FOR A GHOST TO MUTTER, and THE SOLDIER DREAMS (Theatre East), HARVEST (Alchemy Theatre Company), BASH (the dirigo group), S-MAN (Scriptworks), THE ELF and GIFT (Salvage Vanguard Theatre). He serves on the Board of Directors for Texas Dramatists, is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG/AFTRA, and an instructor at the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television, Tisch School of the Arts, NYU and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

Ebony Davis (Production Stage Manager) (she/they) is a multi-talented artist from South Carolina and is now based in BedStuy, Brooklyn.  Having graduated from the College of Charleston as a Studio Art major, they moved to NYC to study acting at the Stella Adler School of Acting.  In the fall, they will be attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art to receive their MFA in Classical Acting, with the hopes of becoming a professor (and working actor) in the future.   

Robert A. K. Gonyo (Sound Design) is a theatre director, sound designer, actor, voiceover artist, musician, and tour-guide residing in Queens. His sound designs have been heard with The Skeleton Rep, Retro Productions, American Theater Group, Co-Op Theatre East, End Times, The New Collectives, Writopia Lab’s Worldwide Plays Festival, Amios, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and now, with Theatre East. Artemis Zara Gültekin (Sound Design Assistant) (she/they) is an artist and a storyteller from Ankara, Türkiye. She is a resident artist at Turkish American Repertory Theater & Entertainment (TARTE), and an active member in the monthly radio play series Living Radio. In her free time, she likes getting lost in other fictional worlds, reading fanfiction on TikTok, and living shamelessly! Christa Kimlicko Jones (Assistant Director) has been working in the theatre for over 20 years as an actor, director, producer, administrator, or teacher. Logan Kovach (Scenic Design) serves as Executive Director of International Football Players Project, Shop Foreman of 11th St. Workshop, Co-Founder of Pop-Off Improv, & Director of Community Engagement at Theatre East. He has designed sets for Unity Productions, Point-Blank Theatre Co., Untethered Theatre Co., Wet Paint New Play Festival, and theatre festivals across the US.
Beyond profession, Logan is an animal lover, aspiring chess master (1600 blitz), a queer, male/non-binary, ambiamorous, environmentalist, Robin Hood Visionary, multidisciplinary artist, & activist. Logan values kindness, lives presently, & celebrates life’s joys at every opportunity. He loves you for being here. <3

Sherry Martinez (Costume Design) is a New York City Based costume designer. Her designs have been seen at T. Schreiber Studios, The Abingdon Theater and The Stella Adler Studio. Mike McNulty (House Manager) is originally from Lenexa, KS, and graduated with dual degrees from Missouri State University in theatre performance studies and entertainment management. Most recently he understudied Rodrigo in Othello with New Place Players & played Hamlet in a production staged in Helsingør, Denmark. He’s also worked with various theatre companies in NYC, including SITI Company, Say What? NYC Comedy Improv, & the Ume Group.
